The progression of Henry and Killian’s relationship
It was never animosity between them, and I love how close they have became. In Colin’s words Killian is//trying to be Henry’s father figure and I agree: they enjoy they time together; Killian protect, teach and cares for Henry.
And I am kind of happy for possible conflict between them: Killian and Henry likes each other; but they have never lived together and with Emma most probably asking the big question in 6×03; I expect the kind of conflict that come with being/learning to be a family/living together, Also IMAGINE ALL THE MOVIE NIGHTS!
It’s a sequel, and they’re always more involved than the original.
I’m sorry, mate, I… don’t understand.
And Henry is a teenage boy and, I guess, Hook is, in some way, a father figure – or trying to be a father figure – for him, so that’s kind of where they’re at.
Notes: Henry and Killian go shopping for something special. This is unapologetic fluff of the highest order. Captain Cobra! Captain Charming! And now 100% angst-free! (AO3 link)
“No, see, you don’t want to watch them in numerical order.”
Killian squinted at Henry in confusion, dodging around Bashful as they passed him on the sidewalk. “Why wouldn’t I watch them in bloody order? Isn’t that the order the story goes in?”
Henry rolled his eyes in a long-suffering way that seemed to say, once again, I have the terrible burden of educating this pirate in the ways of my people. “It is, but episodes four, five, and six were made first, and it’s universally acknowledged that they were way better than one, two, and three. You could just skip those altogether. If you watch the original trilogy, then you know everything you need to know to see The Force Awakens.”
This one-shot is part of Twenty First Century Man, a series of canon compliant one-shots that explores Hook’s thoughts and feelings as he adapts to the Land Without Magic. Check out the master-post for a complete list of one-shots in this series.

Hook + French fries
Killian wondered whether or not he would ever stop feeling anxious around Henry. He supposed he might eventually; the lad’s memories would return at some point. Then he could stop pretending he wasn’t Captain bloody Hook, and he could be more truthful about his relationship with Neal.
But perhaps Henry would have some strong feelings about Captain Hook pursuing his mother, especially given said captain’s history with his father. And grandfather. Especially since, in this world, Captain Hook was a villainous character, and though Killian considered himself a changed man, his past was far from clean.
He’d initially been inclined to believe that it wouldn’t be an issue; the afternoon and evening they spent together after Neal’s funeral had gone smoothly enough. Henry seemed to appreciate what little Killian could tell him about his father, and he even seemed to enjoy sailing quite a bit.
We are all so excited about this upcoming scene I decided to draw it! Not only that, I happened to be able to witness this scene being filmed on set the other day in which I met the lovely @captainswanouat who took the picture that inspired this drawing. It’s been a great week y’all! Thanks for sharing!
