(Just ignore me while I’m over here wondering if people would find it as funny if Hook met an overweight AU version of Emma and then joked about needing to cut off her supply of grilled cheese and hot cocoa when he got home…)

Seriously, like it’s cool if people liked it or found it funny, but it’s not OK to brush people’s concerns over this under the rug, because aside from personal issues with those of us right out hurt about this, and aside from the already big issue of fat shaming, they are simultaneously proving all the haters who say Emma just loves him because he’s hot right, they’re kind of cheapening their True Love because apparently Emma loves him and will go to the Underworld for him but only as long as he still was fit and handsome, and ultimately making light of alcoholism too in the same scene.

Like hey, they have written other comic relief scenes that haven’t been deeply offensive and hurtful, this wasn’t necessary at all, even less the way they made it play out.

(And now everyone thinks it’s super funny that Emma thinks Killian needs to “get off the desserts” when a month ago those same people thought those who expressed concern over this version of Killian were “fat shaming” and terrible.)

It doesn’t matter if you think this version of Killian is attractive, the writers have Emma expressing that she intends to have future Killian lay off drinking and eating dessert in order for him to avoid looking like like au wish Killian. The writers have made this a joke, him a joke. That is the very definition of fat shaming. It isn’t funny. At all.

On top of all the jokes at the expense of his disability they created an entirely new way to make him the butt of a joke and continue to play alcoholism for laughs.

Seriously, like they can’t even say they don’t know how to write funny scenes without being hurtful and wful, the CS movie scene with past and present Hook is the best example of that. But hey it’s easier to make fun of him cause he was fat and old, right? So done tbh
