I know a lot of you guys don’t want to reblog those posts about the wildfires in Greece because they’re too long, so I figured I would make a shorter post for y’all.
Here is a link on how to help and what the current situations are, and here is a direct link to the fundraiser.
As someone who has personally been affected by fire, I would really appreciate if y’all could sb this??
tomorrow is election day in my country but that is a bad new because if the actual government win, my country (Venezuela) is going to be communist (plus its an illegal election) the current president, a drug trafficking and dictator, would rule as he wants and that means:
there will be no means of communication
no internet
no more democratic elections
no more banks or credit/debit cards
if i want to travel to another country i’ll not be able to
i’ll not be able to decide my religion cause the president decides for me
not to mention the economic and social crisis we already have. In the last months they have killed almost 100 (or more) people for thinking differently, have been tortured and put in jail without reason! And everything could get worse!
I don’t know if you would read this, but please help us. Many countries have opposed to this situation (we don’t have food or medicines or even toothpaste who is fucking expensive here).
Help my country, pray for us or send help. Do something! People is dying here, is like a war disguised as democracy. Or to put it in terms that understand: it’s like The Hunger Games but worse
GUYS PLEASE READ THISSS
Update: Today have killed 15 people for thinking different, this can’t be happening, it’s illegal and no one helps us. the airlines left the country, that means no one can travel outside. It’s awful, please pray for us. Please
update 2: ok guys, its time to know the news (11:46pm) PLEASE PRAY FOR VENEZUELA PLEASE
UPDATE!!!
Ok guys, they won. they won with 8 millions of votes. but don’t be fooled. Today the polling places were empty, and at 3pm only 1 million of people voted (less than the 2%) My cousin told me that they use information of DEATH PEOPLE to gain votes.
Ten countries don’t recognize this election. Was a fraud election. And the only thing that need matter is the fact that 15 PEOPLE WERE KILLED TODAY, and two of them were just TEENAGERS (13 and 17 years old)
one woman was FIRED of her work for doesn’t go to vote (according to her family, she was an amazing employed). People have crossed the border with Colombia to not stay here
The president is talking now, he’s saying that “the socialism won” that “no one motherfucker (talking about the people who are opposed to this) is going to rule here”. Things are going to be worse.
If you want to help, pray for us. go to the embassies of Venezuela in your countries and don’t recognize this government, this election
Nicolas Maduro is a killer, a torturer, HE IS A LIAR. PEOPLE IS DYING HERE, WE DON’T HAVE MEDICINES AND FOOD AND BASIC STUFF TO LIVE. PEOPLE ARE EVEN EATING FROM THE GARBAGE.
THIS COULD HAPPEN IN THE NEXT HOURS OR DAYS. READ THE IMAGES BELOW
Spread the word please. DONT LET THE PRESIDENT SILENCE US
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!1
NICOLAS MADURO SAID THAT POLITICANTS AGAINST HIM ARE GOING TO BE IN JAIL
HE SAID THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT TV CHANNELS HERE MIGHT DISAPPEAR JUST FOR SAYS THE TRUTH
HE’S A DICTATOR!!! VENEZUELA IS DYING, PLEASE HELP US. SPREAD THISSS

I think a lot of us are looking at what’s going on in Aleppo and feeling helpless or a sense of despair at what’s going on over there, and how ineffective the international community and the world leaders have been at doing anything to save the people that have been trapped in Aleppo. It’s a really sad statement for where the world is and that this is the theater that has been chosen for this mini-world war (and no, I’m not even being a little bit dramatic).
These are a handful of organizations that anyone can donate towards. If you can’t donate, but want to do something, you can look for volunteer opportunities.
On December 12th, over 100,000 people in East Aleppo were trapped in a 5 square kilometer range as they were being bombarded by airstrikes from Russia and the Syrian government to attempt to overtake the rebel-held area. “The Russia-backed ground offensive, which began on November 26, followed an intensive aerial bombing campaign that knocked out most of the medical facilities, targeted civil defence and municipal vehicles and blocked roads with rubble.” The world is sitting and watching a genocide happen before their eyes as civilians are being massacred. Families posted on various social media platforms to say their final goodbyes.
A huge thing we can do is spread the word as quick as possible to raise awareness! Below are a list of charities, I have researched these and listed how much of your donation gets to use. Please add to the conversation and research on your own so we can find the best charities.
Donate to:
Syria Relief: They work to provide many life-saving essentials including food, medicine and medical care, winter provisions including warm blankets and bedding, as well as an orphan support programme. 88.8% of your donation goes into relief, the remaining go into raising money, and a small portion into admin.
Save The Children: Provides food and water, helps repair water systems, supports hospitals, helps schools, and provides emotional help for children. They have helped over 500 000 children in besieged areas so far. 88% of your donation goes into relief, the remaining goes into fundraising efforts.
Islamic Relief Worldwide: They distribute food packs, clothes and medical supplies to communities under siege within Syria and displaced people along the Turkish border. They are also running or supporting camps and providing livelihood programmes, education and psychosocial support for refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq. 90% of your donation goes into relief and development, the remaining goes into delivery of relief, campaigning, and generating future income.
Karam Foundation: An NPO that develop Innovative Education programs for Syrian refugee youth, distribute Smart Aid to Syrian families, and fund Sustainable Development projects initiated by Syrians for Syrians. They distribute clothes, food, water, flour, blankets, infant formula and other basic necessities. 100% of profit goes into building programs, providing relief, and sustaining development.
Doctors Without Borders/Medecins sans Frontieres: “Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality.” 80% of your donation goes into relief/ supplies.
The White Helmets: Syrian Civil Defense rescue volunteers who literally go unarmed into the most dangerous situations. Since there are not very many functioning public services left, they respond to the more than 50 bombings a day in some neighborhoods, and pull out whoever they can. They’re at a huge risk because repeat bombings are common. These people are the literal last defense some Syrians have. At last count, they’ve saved 73, 350 lives. The situation is dire and desperate and this is immediate, front lines relief. Please consider donating.
hey guys seriously consider thinking about haiti and jamaica rn, hurricane matthew is expected to hit them and bring a minimum of 15-20 inches of rain and a max of 40 inches in haiti. seriously please keep them in your thoughts
already four people have died from this hurricane and it hasn’t even fully hit yet. it’s bringing bad flooding and mudslides to jamaica and hati and is expected to hit cuba and the bahamas too, although it should be a little weaker by then
seriously please keep the haiti and jamaica in your thoughts and look into donations and support for them after this week, this is a really bad storm.
The spread of the word for ‘tea’ across the world.
Basically:
half the world inherited the word for “tea” via overland trade (the Silk Road), from the Mandarin term “cha”.
and the other half inherited it through maritime trade (the Maritime Silk Road), from the Minnan/Hokkien term “te”.
Hunh.
Also, in Portuguese: chá, which it’s really interesting based on the second comment (also why does everyone always seems to forget about Portugal in these kind of things? lol)
