So I’m reading about the Olympic ice dancers Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue.
First: I’m reading up on them because my husband said “Hey that dude kind of looks like Colin O’Donoghue” and I was like “Sorta?” so I googled imaged searched, and it has spiraled from there.
Second: their story literally sounds like a Captain Swan Olympic Ice Dancer AU waiting to happen.
Hubbell spent the first 10 years of her career dancing with her brother before they decided to split in 2011. Donohue competed with four other partners before linking with Hubbell.
Hubbell dreamed of the Olympics since she was a kid, and it’s why she got into skating. Donohue accidentally stumbled into it as a teenager while he was being a jerk.
“We Hated Each Other” Before they were partners, they were competitors. Hubbell said: “Our mutual coach at the time kind of forced us to start skating together just to kill time. We didn’t really want to skate together. It was fate.”
Also:
Like… that’s some serious Killian-approved v-neck action going on in his outfits.
Also we get the patented Emma-Swan-Face-Pet:
seriously someone write the thing
Someone WRITE the thing please! I cookies and fan art if you want!
This is just a speculation (so disclaimer, a salt shaker to go along with it), and I’m going to tag my co-conspirator @j-philly-b (if you have more to add, go for it) because she and I speculated this, offline, some months ago, and now with episode 6×12 out of the way, it just seems clearer that Killian’s mission will be to break Snowing out of the sleeping curse for the reasons that we know.
I’m going to start with the people that will be in episode 6×15.
Captain Nemo (he’s also in episode 6×14);
2.0;
Ariel and Eric;
Aladdin and Jasmine
Jafar
So I have no clue why Aladdin, Jasmine and Jafar are part of the episode, other than the show doesn’t know when to cut it losses (or ABC wanted them to do this story), I don’t know how those 3 fit into all of this. But apparently, Jasmine and Ariel know each other. I guess there’s a possibility that mute Ariel may have traveled to Agrabah because Eric was headed there as part of his long voyage.
My favorite thing is Emma and Killian’s different style for cheering each other up or if something is wrong with the other. We have Emma who at first puts little pirate jokes out or has talked about his handsomeness. After she just saved his life in 5.14, she joked of being “impossible”. Even back in s3 when something unknown was wrong with him, she decided to be playful and impress with her magic. To me, it feels like she goes to humor at first. Then we have Killian who is more than likely going to act serious. Give some advice or relate it to him. He’ll sometimes take whatever the problem is head on especially if it’s about her health.
I like when we get to see a switch between them. Killian is usually the playful one who makes jokes and Emma is usually the serious one (in my opinion). So it’s nice to see them use the other’s personality to cheer the other up or to get the other talking about a problem,.
This one-shot is part of Twenty First Century Man, a series of canon compliant one-shots that explores Hook’s thoughts and feelings as he adapts to the Land Without Magic. Check out the master-post for a complete list of one-shots in this series.
Like Father, Like Son Episode 3×17: The Jolly Roger Rated: G FFnet/AO3
Hook + French fries
Killian wondered whether or not he would ever stop feeling anxious around Henry. He supposed he might eventually; the lad’s memories would return at some point. Then he could stop pretending he wasn’t Captain bloody Hook, and he could be more truthful about his relationship with Neal.
But perhaps Henry would have some strong feelings about Captain Hook pursuing his mother, especially given said captain’s history with his father. And grandfather. Especially since, in this world, Captain Hook was a villainous character, and though Killian considered himself a changed man, his past was far from clean.
He’d initially been inclined to believe that it wouldn’t be an issue; the afternoon and evening they spent together after Neal’s funeral had gone smoothly enough. Henry seemed to appreciate what little Killian could tell him about his father, and he even seemed to enjoy sailing quite a bit.
A quick one shot based on the Captain Book spoilers and the speculations that she is staying on the Jolly Roger! I couldn’t help myself! I live for this friendship!! (also a hint of cs just because)
~~~~~
Killian leaned lazily against the counter at Granny’s as he
waited for his To-Go order he placed for him, Emma and Henry. He had promised Henry just this morning
before he left for school that they’d get started on that movie list of his,
and even though it was a long hard day, filled with villains and drama (what
else was new?) he intended to keep that promise.
Emma was on board as well, definitely wanting a few hours of
normal with her boys, so he told him she’d go get some much needed wine if he
took care of dinner. They parted with a
quick kiss, an exchange of I love you’s and see you back at home.
Home, he thought with a smile. It still completely floored him that he had a
home with his Swan…a home that wasn’t a few planks of wood and a sail…but an
actual house that they shared together. Not
that the Jolly Roger wasn’t still important to him…it always would be his baby
and although he’d give it up again in an heartbeat if he had to, he was
grateful it was back in his life.
“Order up!”
He glanced up, grinned at Granny as he snagged the bag. “Thanks, love.”
She tilted down her glasses, narrowed her eyes at him. “Are you staying out of trouble, pirate?”
His grin widened. “Of
course not.”
She chuckled deeply. “Good…give
my best to Henry and Emma.”
“I’ll do it…see you tomorrow.”
He was just swinging out the door when he felt his phone began
to buzz in his back pocket, so he juggled the bag of food in his left arm,
fished it out and frowned at the name on the tiny display. “Belle?”
