today i learned that the finnish word for ‘hazardous waste’ is ongelmajäte, which can also translate as ‘problematic garbage’ and my roommate and i immediately agreed this is a word that belongs on tumblr.

in german it’s Sondermüll which means special trash and that too belongs on tumblr

I asked the librarian for a book about Pavlov’s dog and Schroedinger’s cat. She said it rang a bell but she wasn’t sure if it was there or not.
En Anglais, on ne dit pas “quatre vingt dix neuf”, on dit “ninety nine” qu’on pourrait traduire comme “Hurr durr, regardez mois, j’ai un système de numérotation fonctionnel” et je crois que c’est magnifique.
