Episode: The Brothers Jones
Ramblers in the wilderness we can’t find what we need We get a little restless from the searching Get a little worn down in between Like a bull chasing the matador is the man left to his own schemes Everybody needs someone beside em’ shining like a lighthouse from the sea
Brother let me be your shelter Never leave you all alone I can be the one you call When you’re low Brother let me be your fortress When the night winds are driving on Be the one to light the way Bring you home
“Does my brother really see me that way?”
Emma turned to see the self-righteous prick himself staring her down with his arms crossed. Regina’s eyes rose in silent sympathy as she hurried away with a mumbled good luck. Emma gave Liam Jones no quarter – matching his glare with one of her own. Yet as she searched the blue eyes that were a lighter shade than she was used to, but still so oddly similar, she saw the tiniest flicker of concern. And fear. His eyes darted as they searched hers.
“Does he? Think I walk on water?”
Emma leaned back against the bar with a shrug. “You heard him back at the house. It never once occurred to him that you might be here due to your own choices.”
Liam shook his head as his arms fell to his sides. “I never meant for him to think I was perfect. I’m far from it, believe me.”
Emma cocked her head to the side as she regarded him, then she dropped her chin as a wry laugh escaped her lips.
“I fail to see what’s so funny.”
That only made Emma chuckle more. Killian had always said Liam lacked a sense of humor. She finally decided to put the poor man out of his misery as she looked back up into his eyes. “It’s just I came down here to rescue Killian. That was it. I never thought I’d face my own ghosts. Yet here I am standing right in front of my second one.”
After Calypso’s curse sends everyone back to the Enchanted Forest, Hook comes upon the realization that he is the only one who still has his memories. While reminiscing about pivotal moments in his relationship with Emma, he quickly arranges a plan to find her and convince her their True Love is the only way to break the curse.
Huge thank you to the wonderful @cshappybeginning for the amazing poster she’s created for this fic!
Since Tumblr sucks and there are these messy symbols, I advise you to read this chapter on AO3 and FF.net.
Enchanted Forest – Present Day
The
familiar fishy odor of the pier invaded Killian’s nostrils as his eyes settled
on the small, brick houses he hadn’t seen in a long time. He still couldn’t
believe that bloody witch had tricked them all and cast a curse on them, but
staring at old houses sure wouldn’t solve a thing.
“Emma!”
he knew looking around the Jolly would be fruitless, but he still couldn’t help
but let his eyes wander the deck. He heaved an annoyed sigh when all he saw was
an ashamed Smee sitting on one of the trapdoors, trying to hide a piece of
bread and cheese behind his back.
“Captain, I
swear I was just stopping for a breath,” he used his free hand to clean some
breadcrumbs off his bearded chin before sending Killian a curious look. “Who is
Emma?”

They ran. They just needed to find somewhere to hide and-
The room was shaking so much rubble was coming down all around
them. Emma watched in horror as Killian disappeared under a pile of
debris. She made to run over when a large hand grabbed her. A very large
hand.
It’s late, the nursery nearly
pitch black but for the soft, faint purple-ish glimmer of the nightlight in the
corner.
Emma can just barely tell where
he is in the dark of the small room, but she knows he’s here with them —he
always is.
He’s sat on the floor, she
knows, uncomfortable as can be, but unmovable just the same. His back against the
closet’s door, legs unfolded in front of him, his face in his hand.
It’s been a long day; a day of
waiting, a day of worrying and pacing and sickness abounds.
They are home now though, have
been for a few hours, and while the little bundle in Emma’s arms has been
asleep and settled for almost as many hours as they’ve been home, there’s
nothing humanly capable of separating them from their daughter right now.
With the giant was taken care of, Emma and Killian wove their way into the… castle? Manor? Something large and
wow
, full of treasure. Killian’s pleased hum barely registered
through her own amazement. Where was this place when she was sixteen?
She would’ve been set for life.
She would’ve been able to keep Henry…
The room spun. She’d been running on adrenaline since arriving
in the Enchanted Forest. Knowing he was okay was different than seeing
it, feeling it. She finally felt almost worthy of him when she got torn
away. Emma took a deep breath. Find the compass, get back, get home.
Find the compass, get back, get home. She snuck a glimpse at her
companion. She still needed to figure out what she going to do about
him.
Emma
wiped the tears from her eyes, wishing she could sink into the steps
before her husband could reach her. Too late, his footsteps rounded the
corner and her tears renewed.
“Oh my love,” he sank to a knee in front of her, gently prying her hands off her face.
She
nestled her cheek into his palm as he reached up to caress the streaks
away. The sounds from the party reached their ears, her parents and
brother laughing, the dwarves crowing, even Anton’s quiet voice could be
heard as their friends and family reveled in their backyard. Everyone
together. Almost everyone. Killian simply held her gaze, fingers rubbing
gently behind her ear.
“I miss him too, luv.”
She nodded, squeezing her eyes shut and tightening her grip on his hook.
“Oh come here, darling.”
He
pulled her into his chest, hook trapped between them in her death grip,
hand moving to hold her head above his beating heart. She buried her
face under his chin, letting her tears fall freely. They sat there
together as the stars twinkled in the twilight.
“Pregnancy sucks.”
Killian chuckled when she finally spoke, red eyes rising to meet his.
“‘Tis
not right that it has magically made you lovelier than ever then, Swan.”
He smirked as she rolled her eyes at him, burrowing herself back into
his arms. “But you’re allowed to be sad that your boy is off on his own
adventure, pregnancy or no.”
Emma
sighed, giving Killian one last squeeze before pulling away. “I know.
Let’s go finish this party so I can ravish you because all that sad has
now made me horny as hell.”
He laughed, and tugged her back against his frame. “With an offer like that, how could I refuse?”
She
hummed into his mouth as his lips slid against her own. His tongue
languidly teased her mouth open, the fire his presence always started
fanning to an inferno inside her. She groaned in protest when he broke
the kiss off, wrapping her hand inside his and drawing her back to the
party. He kissed her like that, and then expected her to wait? Pregnancy really sucked.
Hello, my lovelies! Thank you for your patience and lovely feedback on chapter one! This chapter is extra long to make up for it! I also included a little epilogue at the end for you! Read chapter one here!
As Emma sets up a surprise anniversary date on Killian’s ship, she anciently finds a Captain’s Log that has more than just wind directions in it… Is Emma ready to hear what her boyfriend really has on his mind? This chapter is about how Emma reacts to the L word and how she feels about it!
Which story should I update next? The List? When in Neverland? Or another one-shot? Let me know!
Chapter One: I’d recommend reading chapter one! But this is really all you need to know!
Entry 8 If I had to be stuck in an alternate universe with any person in all the realms I’m glad it was Emma. Seeing her in that red dress I knew that I had fallen in love with her. And watching her snog my former self-ignited lust and anger all at the same time. I just wish she’d kiss the real me, the me that would actually remember.
She couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks. Emma couldn’t believe the pain and misery that she put him through. She just assumed that most of the flirting in the beginning was fueled by lust but he truly loved her from the start.
Wait, Emma thought to herself. “He said that he loved me,” she whispers out loud. A grin appeared upon her face as her eyes lit up. Emma couldn’t believe that he actually used that word. Not only did he use it but he felt this way even before their first date! That word wasn’t really in Emma’s vocabulary. Because every time she said it they would leave her. But this time was different. She never felt the need to suppress it. Maybe she never said it out loud but she knows how she feels! She knew with 100% certainty that she was in love with Killian Jones.
Chapter Two:
Emma didn’t know what to do. It was obvious that he knew she read the log, but the question was how much does he think she read. His face turned red with embarrassment. She could tell he was totally mortified.
“Um, love, is there any chance you could just forget everything you just read?” He asked awkwardly scratching behind his ear. A nervous tick of his that she had observed over their relationship. After a few moments of silence Killian tried again. “I’m so sorry, love. I would completely understand if you never wanted to see me again,” Hook let out an awkward chuckle hoping it would defuse some of the tension in the room while averting his eyes and shifting his weight from side to side.
Emma rushed over to him, bringing his lips to hers for a searing kiss. She could tell he was taken aback by her gesture. He fully expected her to run for the hills after everything he admitted in that journal.
She ran her fingers through his dark locks while pressing herself firmly against the hard peeks of his muscles. Even though he was strong and toned, she still felt a soft warmth envelope her whenever she was with him. Her hips moved across his lips to her jaw, kissing every inch of him before pulling back to meet his gaze. “Killian Jones, I love your hook, I love your past, and I love our future. I love that you love Henry and my family. And that you protect me and my heart. I love that even when I push you away you keep pulling me close. I love that you put me first and show me what I deserved. But most of all Killian Jones, I love you. And I’m sorry that it took me so long to say that,” Emma smiled, her eyes glimmering with love and hope for their future.
Killian’s heart fluttered at the sound of her confession of love. “I love you Emma Swan, more than you’ll ever know,” Hook sang as he caressed her soft rosy cheek with the pad of his thumb.
Emma smiled so wide that it almost hurt! Her whole body was buzzing with the feeling of relief and love. But a tinge of guilt crept up inside her. “I’m so so sorry, Killian,” Killian looked confused and tried to interrupt but she pressed on. “ Not just for reading your journal but for all the pain I put you through. I hurt you and broke your heart just because mine had so many walls built around it. I didn’t even think about what this has all done to you. From day one you have given me nothing but respect and support. I hope you figured this out but I never cared about Neal like I care about you. I always would pick you. It doesn’t matter that he was the father of my child, that was irrelevant. Sure I loved him but I never loved him like I love you. Your love is selfless and unconditional, Neal’s was teen love. They don’t compare even in the slightest. And I never truly thanked you for coming back for me and my family when Henry was taken. You offered your ship, your knowledge and yourself. You didn’t have to do that, but you did. You put your life on the line when you could have easily walked away. And I’m sorry that I didn’t trust you when Zelena cursed your lips. You were just trying to do what was right for me but I was stupid and didn’t trust you even though you had never given me a reason not to. And when we were stuck in the past in an alternate universe you stood by my side through everything. You held my me when I thought I had lost my mother and saved my life more times than I can count. You’ve always put me first, and from now on I promise you I’ll do the same,” She vowed, placing a kiss to the top of his hand then placing it to her cheek.
