He sat back on his heels as he considered the girl in front of him. She was only a few years younger than he was but her thick coat dwarfed her and made her seem even smaller. She was prettier than the other girls he knew. Her eyelashes curled against her cheek, the delicate curve of her pink lips. She looked an angel with her golden hair falling around her like a halo.
“I’ll keep you safe,” he said laying a hand gently on her shoulder. It was a promise he meant to keep. She shifted under his touch mumbling something but not waking.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this chapter so muuuuuuch!! Emma and Killian as children will be always one thing I adore on fanfics, but this one is MWAH so wonderful!! Guys, really, READ IT!! It was exciting, sweet, full of action and AAAAAA!! My art doesn’t do justice! So here’s a brave young Killian protecting the little princess Emma, everything from here will change for both of them… AND IS AMAZING.

Loving the depth of emotion and determination in Killian’s eyes and in his shout as well as how willing Emma is to trust him in this image!
Lifting her hands, she wraps her fingers around his wrists, and smiles up at him. Killian breathes out a low chuckle, before his gaze moves to her lips. Allowing him to tilt her head back, Emma can’t help but melt into him when he kisses her after mumbling against her lips,
“The snow continues to rain down on them, and her jeans are almost completely soaked, but she doesn’t move, because with each note that he sings, her muscles seem to unlock and the pains in her chest start to become less.
“Let it be… let it be… let it be… let it be… whisper words of wisdom… let it be.”
