So yesterday I was making a CS gifset, and I was giffing the hand from 2×06 and I started to think of how significant this hand grasp was. And then I started to think of how it was such a huge symbol of trust in Aladdin. And then I started thinking of how these couples parallel in a lot of ways. So one thing led to another and I found myself re-watching Aladdin to find all these parallels to CS that I knew were there.
We never discussed the parallels to Aladdin & Jasmine, but I think the all feeling of Killian of being not good enough for Emma are things we saw on the movie as well, along with how she could see beyond everything he seems on the outside and see his soul and fall for the man of honor he was.
