This is a headcanon of mine and I hope they address something about this in the final two episodes! Picks up right at the end of 5×21 “Last Rites”

Storybrooke being what it is, Emma cannot count on anything more than a single quite moment with Hook before something else goes to shit – a death, a kidnapping, someone being sucked into a fucking portal. She clings to Killian with more than a hint of desperation as they stare at Robin’s grave and, pressing a final kiss to his stubbled cheek, she allows him a minute alone with the deceased thief.

“If it is more kisses, Swan, I would not protest.”

She gives him a glare that is more affection than bite, then grasps the chain around her neck to draw out the trinket that has rested against her heart since she first accepted it. With a duck of her head, she pulls the chain off of her neck and holds it out to Killian, where it dangles like a silver promise from another life.
