Summary: “Once Upon a Time” returns to ABC one last time for its seventh and final season, in a journey where the most-awaited answers regarding our favorite fairytale characters will finally be unveiled. While sheriff Emma Swan and deputy Captain Hook try to conceal their lives as newlyweds with the challenging job of protecting Storybrooke, the startling presence of new residents Morgana, Ethel and Scott unleashes a series of heartbreaking and unforeseen events that will disrupt Emma and Hook’s Happy Beginning.
This chapter includes many flashbacks related to new characters. With this being a Captain Swan story, these flashbacks featuring other characters will ALWAYS be relevant/connected to Emma, Killian and their storylines so I advise readers to keep track of all the information the flashbacks provide .
Author’s Note: This fanfic is my attempt at creating an alternative OUAT season 7 that (hopefully) can help Captain Swan shippers get over the real season 7 in the same way writing it has been helping me. This is a continuation of season 6 and follows the adventures of sheriff Swan and deputy Jones. Every week I will be posting casting news, episode descriptions, episode stills, script teases and title spoilers. Visit my blog for more info.
“Mom, you
do know I’m old enough to take care of my hair, right?” Henry’s slightly
annoyed tone barely noticeable to Emma as she went through his wet hair,
tweezers in hand in case they were needed. She had managed to wake up earlier than
usual to buy a specific product to kill head lice.
“Sorry kid,
but not when you have lice. Hold on a second, I’m almost done.”
“It’s
ironic how magic can destroy powerful sorcerers but not kill bugs.”
“It’s a
parasite, actually.”
“Did you
ever have them?”
“Having
lived on the streets and in orphanages for most of my life, those little guys
were practically my best friends,” – as soon as her answer left her mouth,
Henry cringed, realizing how dumb his question had been, but it was too late
now. Thankfully, his mom hadn’t seemed too bothered by it.
“Sorry,
that was a stupid question.”
“That’s
okay,” Emma said, squinting at a tiny, white speck on his hair before trying to
remove it with the tweezers, “the good part is that I now know exactly how to
kill these bast– bad boys.”
Henry
laughed at her sudden change of vocabulary, “people swear all the time at
school, mom. Besides, I’m almost 14. I can handle it.”
“You turned
13 last week,” she muttered matter-of-factly as she playfully messed up his
hair before getting back to using the tweezers to get the suckers out.
“Ow, that
hurts!”
“Sorry,”
she apologized, “just think about the waffles you’re about to eat.”
“Waffles,
really?!”
“Yup. Killian’s
cooking them for breakfast,” – Emma then took the hair dryer from one of the
cabinets and plugged it into the outlet. His hair needed to be dry for the
product to work.

Mary Margaret had only had one black dress in her closet (she wasn’t really the type to wear black), so Emma had gone to one of Storybrooke’s clothing shops and bought the only vaguely appropriate things she could find on such short notice: an itchy blouse which she kind of loathed, and a black blazer that didn’t really even fit her, that she had to cuff the sleeves of so that they didn’t engulf her hands.
After Graham’s burial, she and Mary Margaret returned to the apartment, collapsing onto the sofa.
“This sucks.”
“Yeah,” Mary Margaret agreed, taking her hand. They sat in silence together.
“Did I tell you what Dr. Whale said about his heart?”
“That he had a congenital heart condition? Yeah, you told me.”
Emma turned to face Mary Margaret. “That must be why he had that weird idea that his heart had been taken out of his chest, right? He must have been feeling that something was wrong with his heart. Why didn’t I insist he go to the hospital? Maybe they could have caught it and saved him—”
During 3×16 – Tink gives Hook some advice and Emma seeks him out.
Murmurs began to fill the silence around them as people started to retreat from the graveside. Emma remained firmly where she stood, Henry at her side as they both stared at the casket below.
Killian couldn’t bear to see her in pain. His own memories of having to bury loved ones spurred him towards wanting to help her; to take away the loss one feels when saying goodbye. He wanted for her to not have to know that emptiness. She’d been through too much already and he was worried for her.
He wanted to comfort her.
“Are you alright, Emma?” he asked gently, stepping forward to be closer to her side.
“I’m fine.”
Her automatic response told him she was neither fine, nor aware of who she’d actually spoken to; too lost in her thoughts to be aware of anyone around her.
“We’re heading over to Granny’s for the wake. You should come.” Snow’s voice addressed him.
The princess was beside him, placing her hand on his forearm; David standing supportive behind her. Her voice lowered, making sure only he could hear. “Give them some time alone.”
Snow wasn’t hostile; Killian knew what she meant. They needed time to grieve in private.
As a family.
“Of course.”
He nodded to them both before stepping back and turning, following the direction of the crowd making it’s way back towards town. He couldn’t help turning to look back, seeing Emma still in her frozen state, Henry by her side, and her parents hovering back a little, waiting for her to come back to them.
“Are you okay?”
He turned sharply, startled by the voice concerned for his wellbeing. Tink appeared, watching him with worry on her face.
“Aye, love. I’m getting there.” he managed to smile, walking with the tiny woman towards town.
“She’ll be fine, you know. She just needs some time right now.”
“I’m well aware of that, thank you.” He didn’t mean to snap at the fairy but the need for people to interfere and tell him what to do was becoming tiresome.
“I know you still love her.” she continued, ignoring his irritation.
Notes: Thank you to Liz ( @caprelloidea ) for the amazing beta, you keep me right. I’m very excited about this little story. A gift I started a long time ago for a lovely lady @acrobat-elle whom I adore. I’m happy I’m actually able to finally give it to you.
Summary: After Killian sacrifices himself to obtain the Black Fairy’s wand and stop Pan’s oncoming curse it is up to Emma to reunite the pirate with his shadow. A Shadow!Killian fic.
The words had left his mouth without a thought, and he ignored the looks of surprise all around, focused instead on the specter above. Hook hoped they wouldn’t argue the point. Though, he didn’t harbor any delusions the gathered group cared enough about his well being to even attempt such a thing. They knew they needed that blasted wand, and fast. They also knew they were running out of time.
The demon shadow gave a shriek, a threat, a promise, a laughing challenge all rolled up into a terrible cry that skittered down his spine. There was a curse hanging over their heads and only one weapon that could stop it and it was that thought that emboldened him. It wasn’t even a choice really, there was no one else. The Prince had his family, Bae was reconnecting with his boy, perhaps more if Emma wished it, and Tink the promise of regaining her wings, of finally making a life for herself. What did he have, really? A pirate ship in a small town of a realm he didn’t know, and several barrels of rum. No purpose, no course set. He had always been quite adept at diversions at least.
Hook sucked in a fortifying breath, and stepped forward.
a/n: for someone promoted ‘as the biggest bad to ever bad’, she was an even worse villain than captain hook and his many foiled plots – and thats saying something. so, here’s an attempt at fixing her curse deployment. bonus: it gives CS honeymoon time! (cs after the cut, with a dash of rb+bby gideon)
Fiona has always considered herself a visionary, a go-getter, a creative mastermind. When she developed The Dark Curse, she tested it with a multitude of woodland creatures and unfortunate peasants (though, given the wonders The Land Without Magic has managed to create, hot water from pipes, for example, she’s certain the peasants are more fortunate than not).
What she may have slightly miscalculated, however, is the details. Not that she’d ever admit it, but if there was one thing Regina had gotten right, it was the incredibly mundane details of a town. And a good thing too – if she hadn’t checked the key profiles of the people she intended to curse, she might have never known Henry was born in this land, which means had she cast her curse blindly, Henry would have been untouched by it completely, which could have been disastrous.

breathe.
“It’s just,” he shuffles his feet and scratches at the back
of his ear, a furtive glance shot at her from beneath thick eyelashes. “The
Princess I knew liked pretty things.”
She tilts her head to the side and considers him – the blush
that stains his clean-shaven cheeks, the uniform that stretches tight over his
shoulders. He’s the same age here as their own realm, but he feels more
innocent. Subdued. He bites his tongue against his remarks and regards her from
the corner of his eye, careful to keep appropriate distance from her at all
times. But he’s still, well –
After an attack by the Lost Boys, Emma and Killian find themselves in an impossible situation. Canon divergence from 3×07.
This was an idea I had back in September, but let it sit after writing the intro and finally picked it up again recently. Working on it has basically kept me going during an intensely shitty week. The first 3 chapters are already complete. @caprelloidea is basically the best person ever for helping me through this one.
They’ve just finished filling the canteens when he hears it. A familiar rustle somewhere behind him in the jungle, the same noise that kept him on edge for years in this hellish place, the one that left him looking over his shoulder for centuries. He glances over at Emma to see she’s oblivious, capping the water and adjusting the satchel over her shoulder, her ears not as attuned to this place as his are.
“Swan,” he whispers. She turns to face him and he raises a finger to his lips, tilting his head in the direction of the noise.
They stand there frozen for a long moment listening, the only sounds the occasional call of a bird or the chirping of an insect. He’s just about to relax when he hears it again, and by the tensing of Emma’s shoulders she can as well. She looks toward the noise and back at him, instinctively reaching over her shoulder for her cutlass.
The cutlass she’d given back to Baelfire.
Her eyes widen, and the first tinge of panic starts creeping up his nerves. Emma glances around for something, anything she can use as a weapon as he draws his own sword, stepping between the noise and Emma. It could just be an animal, or one of their group wondering what’s taking them so long, or –
The Lost Boys appear, faces slowly emerging from the jungle. First just in front of him, and then to his right, and his left, swords glinting in the sunlight and arrows dark-tipped with poison.
A dozen weapons against one.
He spares the quickest of glances back and sees Emma frozen, still empty-handed. He turns back to his attackers, one last sweep of the landscape as he considers their options. There’s only one.
“Run.”
There’s only a split-second before they both turn and sprint, splashing over the shallow stream and barreling headlong into the jungle. They need to put some distance between them and the Lost Boys, take advantage of their longer strides and find some kind of hiding place to wait it out as they go by. But as his legs and lungs first start to burn as they duck and tumble and run, dodging arrows the whole way, he realizes what Pan’s crew is really doing.

Summary: With the visitors from Arendelle gone and Gold banished, Emma and Killian’s relationship continues to deepen, especially when an excuse for a road trip away from Storybrooke falls into their laps. (A S4 hiatus story).
Killian opened his eyes to the now-familiar surroundings of his room at Granny’s, faintly lit in the pre-dawn glow. He groaned, stretching his limbs in an attempt to banish the ache caused by too many hours sitting in Emma’s automobile the previous day. They’d both been exhausted when Emma pulled into town, and had limited themselves to a brief goodnight before he climbed out of the car and Emma drove off to pick Henry up from Regina’s house.
The whole trip to New York felt a little bit like a dream now. As he got dressed, Killian caught himself staring at a stray earring of Emma’s he had found on the floor the previous week and had neglected to return to her. He picked it up, squeezing it tightly between his fingers to reassure himself that she was real. That he hadn’t somehow dreamed up their entire relationship.
Belle was already working behind the circulation desk when he arrived at the library after breakfast. “Killian! Glad to see you made it home in one piece,” she said as she loaded returned books onto a cart. “Before you ask, I’ve been looking, but I haven’t found any sign of that crystal at the pawn shop.”
“Wasn’t really expecting you to, love.” He took a deep breath, trying to feign optimism about the task that lay ahead of them. “We’ll find some other way.”
Belle’s lips flattened out in an attempt at a smile. “I hope so. Was it a good trip otherwise?”
