Chapter Three – Yesterday

July – 2015

Killian breathes in deep, allowing the smell of the salty
air to fill his nostrils, and keeps his eyes on the waves. Though the sun is
high in the sky, the breeze from the bay makes it chilly enough that wearing a
hoodie wouldn’t turn heads, but luckily, he doesn’t have to worry about that.

With his arms folded across his chest, he watches across the
way a ship that bears his father’s company logo as it drifts toward the dock.
It’s one of the reasons Brennan purchased the house, it has a great view of his
new shipping dock despite being five miles away from the actual town, but then
again, that’s what was perfect about it.

“We can stay out here, unbothered, until we figure out a
way to fix what has happened to you.”

Wonderful chapter!! I LOVE the fact that Liam is gay and I’m so on board JewelHunter as well, and yas the first meeting!! I kept imagining Killian wearing that ski mask and making the same face Deckhand!Hook made when he bumped with Emma, I loved your nod to that.

And ugh Brennan, I hate him more with every chapter, which I don’t foresee changing much in future chapters, he’s a piece of work.

Can’t wait for the next one!!

Hi! I just finished reading the first two chapters of Beastly and I wanted to send you a little message on here two because OMG! I LOVED your setup, I cried with Emma’s backstory, poor duckling has had such a rough life :((( but I loved that you gave her David as her actual brother and that at least she wasn’t completely alone all those years, and I of course loved Killian’s backstory, damn that Brennan tho, I hate that he made Killian feel like he was only his good looks… Anyway (1/2)

(Part 2) I can’t wait to see what’s next and I would just like to ask if my suspicion that Emma has magic and that’s what caused all her panic attacks since she was little might be true? And if it is, poor baby girl has had to repress that part of herself all her life thus adding to her suffering… I hope she releases all that repression when she kicks Gold’s ass tho haha.

Eeee!!! Thank you so much for your kind words! I knew that giving David as her actual brother would be a change, but had to show that just because she had a brother doesn’t mean it was all sunshine and roses, which I’m glad that you all are able to see. Brennan is also a piece of work, and you’ve only seen a small portion!

That’s a cool suspicion, but the only magic here is from Gold, unfortunately. Her panic attacks are caused when someone grabs her left arm (PTSD from when the man broke it when she was younger) and/or when she’s overly upset because she bottles her feelings in.

I hope she can release it, too. Maybe there’s someone out there that will help her. ;-p

Well that definitely makes a lot of sense and also my heart is breaking all over again for my little cygnet 😥 and yep, definitely you have crafted it so well that even when you have a good support system life can fuck you up either way, poor Emma has suffered so much and even if her background is slightly different than in the canon, it’s obvious it still has made her put up walls either way. And of course, asshole men she dated (fucking Jefferson and Neal) have obviously not helped with that.

And ooooooh, I’m so looking forward to see that someone help her release that hurt as well, as I said I’m bracing myself for some super painful angst over here (don’t hurt us too badly pls 😭).

And you’re more than welcome! I am not too good at leaving feedback because I feel I suck at being eloquent and I get shy about it but I just had to let you know because really your writing is AMAZING! (as usual).
