They stare at each other, Hope’s too-blue eyes bright and curious, while Emma’s own gaze is pensive and uncertain. The bonnet might be overkill, she thinks, but despite its ruffles, it does match the dress.
“You look like a cupcake,” she says, taking in the entire ensemble again.
(Yeah, definitely overkill.)
Hope merely smiles at that — well, smiles as best she can with her fingers shoved into her mouth — and coos at Emma, kicking her feet on the changing table as her other hand reaches out to curl around a lock of hair that’s fallen over her mother’s shoulder.
Emma winces at the sharp tug that follows, then carefully pries tiny, chubby fingers loose. Hope’s hand grasps at one of Emma’s fingers instead and this time Emma grins, leaning down further to kiss at her daughter’s hand.
I have some headcanons, yes (these will include different age ranges):
She has blue eyes and blonde hair, elf ears like her daddy and a cute, little nose like her mommy.
She’ll be a spitfire and the human personification of the energizer bunny.
She’ll accidentally break tons of stuff around the house while trying to sword fight like mommy and daddy.
She’ll inherit Killian’s love of the water, which will result in temper tantrums to go see daddy’s ship at the most inconvenient times, like early mornings on Saturdays.
She will have her daddy’s charming ideas, but her mommy’s clumsy way with words, which will definitely make for some awkward situations.
She will be a prankster and Henry will be her number one victim.
She will have magic, which will cause all sorts of chaos before she learns how to control it (she’ll make mommy and daddy appear next to her whenever she wants, have Henry appear at Granny’s wearing nothing but a bra and a skirt, or making her grandma wear a giant bird suit during one of her classes).
At family gatherings, she will always beg for Emma to hold her, so she can nestle her little head into the side of mommy’s neck and take a nap until the adults get tired of eating and talking.
Nothing will make her laugh like daddy’s funny faces and voices, or the way he tickles her feet before putting her to bed.
She will have mommy’s potty mouth and the first time she says a bad word is after she tries one of Regina’s apple turnovers: “this tastes like crap.” (“HOPE!”)
She will keep stealing her daddy’s necklaces and rings because she insists she’s old enough to be a pirate.
She will be very protective of the Yellow Bug and will start shooing away anyone (except mommy, daddy or Henry) who gets near it, fearing they will steal it.
Wilby will be her best friend.
And I have another one that could be a big spoiler for the alternative S7 fic I am writing, so I will keep that one for myself for now 🙂
So I was chatting with @artistic-writer and she had a great idea about turning my CS movie au series into a fandom wide event. I thought that sounded fun, so here we go!
How it will work: In short, this is gonna be low-key. It will be similar to the OUAT fandom crescendo. Write a CS fic that’s a movie AU, post it, and tag it #csromcom18 (because that’s simpler than the longer title above). Also tag me, @searchingwardrobes and I’ll reblog your story and keep a running list. At the end of the summer, I’ll post a master list. Also reblog each other’s stories and flail over them 🙂
Length of event: Memorial Day to Labor Day
Prompts: I counted them up, and last year I got 42 prompts for movie AUs! And that doesn’t count the ones I actually wrote and the ones I plan on doing this summer. So each week, I’ll post a few prompts. These are totally optional. There only purpose is to give ya’ll ideas. Also, this is a HUGE fandom. Chances are, someone has already written some of these. So can we all agree to be kind to one another and realize that people can have different takes on the same idea? And also know I’m not perfect and can’t possibly have read everything that’s out there.
Fic lengths: One shots or MCs, it doesn’t matter. I couldn’t limit myself last year, so I’m not even going to try!
Re-releases: Having said the above, if you’ve already written some movie AUs, re-release them using the tag. (poking @phiralovesloki and @pocket-anon )

Do you ever stop and think about the fact that the child of our OTP is literally named after the theme of the entire show? Like… they could have named that kid anything (don’t lie, I’m not the only one who was expecting a dead relative name, and it would have been in A&E’s wheelhouse to also name her Alice), but they didn’t. They gave her a brand new name, and one that has been the heart beat of this show since the pilot graced our tv screens.
How many other shippers can say that? How many can say that it is canon that their OTP’s kid was named after the central theme of the entire show? I just… it gives me tingles every time I think about it.
I’ve been so burned out by work that I literally forgot that next Monday was a holiday; I’m damn happy to get one day off and then have an extra WFH day on Friday when it’s my birthday too.
My husband goes through that a lot. Our best guess is that a recruiters job performance is measured by the amount of people they get a response from. Which would explain why they’re so chatty right up until they get your CV, because once they have it, it makes more sense for them to move on. That’s just a guess because otherwise I have no clue, it just seems like a waste of everyone’s time
Oh, that makes sense! Honestly this is the first time this is happened to me on LinkedIn, but honestly it saddened me a bit bc I honestly want to find a different job sooner rather than later and I was so happy that someone had considered me for a position based on my profile, but oh well. Hopefully I’ll find something soon.
